Finance Divisional Governance Manager
We're seeking someone to join our MSESE Finance COO team as a Vice President in Finance to support the MSESE Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance management in the operations of the Finance division and execution of divisional and firm strategy, with a focus on governance and regulatory coordination.
The Finance Department reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records and by contributing to Firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
The MSESE Finance COO function has four teams with the Divisional Governance team comprising two employees based in Frankfurt. The team work closely with the EMEA Finance COO team based in London.
What you'll do in the role:
- Reporting to the MSESE Group Finance Chief Operating Officer (COO), support the MSESE Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and wider MSESE Finance management in the operations of the MSESE Finance division and the execution of divisional and firm strategy.
- Manage the Finance Divisional Governance team, which comprises of this role plus one other VP, within the COO function, including:
- Act as single point of contact for all Finance executive and non-executive governance forum materials
- Co-ordinate and perform quality assurance control of all Finance divisional governance materials for use at both executive and non-executive governance forums (including management and supervisory boards and their committees)
- Manage and agree the divisional governance planning
- Ensure alignment at both parent and regional level board and audit committee governance
- Manage all Board member requests for materials, briefings and other meetings directly with the CFO
- Ensure timely conclusion of actions owned by Finance raised in executive and non-executive governance forums
- Support Finance in its engagement with the ECB and provide central coordination for, and challenge of, regulatory communications and responses across the Division.
- Develop strong professional relationships with key stakeholders within Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management and Firm Management functions.
What you'll bring to the role:
- A Finance background coming from a global financial institution.
- Proven divisional governance experience.
- Ability to create meaningful, articulate documentation for use at all levels including executive and board level.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, decision making and relationship development skills to gain the credibility of key stakeholders.
- A collaborative and participative style.
- You have professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound judgment allied with the ability to interact across all levels.
- Fluency in English language as all governance materials are in English
