Equity Research - Supervisory Analyst

Location: Morgan Stanley headquarters, 1585 Broadway, NYC
Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm, Friday 9am-6pm (ET)
Job Description
The Supervisory Analyst (SA) is part of a global Editorial team that reviews, edits, and approves a high volume of Equity Research, Strategy and Economics content under continuing deadline pressure. Reports are produced by analysts, strategists and economists in the Americas.
The SA will need to have a firm command of all relevant regulatory rules and requirements, as well as a strong grasp of language and style, and work closely with counterparts in the Control Group and Publishing.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing workflow for Equity research/strategy/economics products (reports, presentations, podcasts, videos, etc.) for content quality and adherence to relevant regulations and business standards
- Providing regulatory approval for research/strategy/economics products to be distributed to investors
- Ensuring that appropriate disclosures are included for all approved products
Skills Required
- Series 16
- 3 - 5 years Supervisory Analyst experience
- Strong editing skills, particularly working on material from authors with English as a second language
- Bachelor's Degree, at minimum
- Ability to work under intense deadline pressure with different constituents, while maintaining close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively by phone, email, IM, or in person with analyst teams and global editorial colleagues
- Strong team player: Professional, committed, flexible, and diplomatic at all times
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours if needed (i.e., providing vacation coverage)
- Solid PC / technology skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web-based publishing)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year for Associate, and between $140,000 and $250,000 per year for VP, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
