We're seeking someone to join our team as a Equity Operations Middle Office Risk Support (MORS) Vice President in within to supports the Institutional Equity Division's (IED) Risk Management function, handling the critical responsibility of daily monitoring of Market and Counterparty Risk issues. The team provide risk support analysis on a wide range of hedge funds & high net-worth individuals. These clients trade a variety of strategies covering the full range of Equities, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, Commodity, OTC and Listed Derivatives products. A technical appetite is therefore critical in this role.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Candidate will lead a team of 5 people and be responsible for their development, training and effectiveness to the Business
  • Senior face of PB and Cleared MORS to the Business Control Unit (BCU), Sales and Trading, Finance and Credit
  • Ensure that the team partner with BCU, Strats and Technology to develop, stress test and implement new margin lending models
  • Ensuring the team is able to perform extensive exposure analysis across the client base to flag risk across different Issuers, Countries, Markets and Sectors
  • Attend client meetings and host margin workshops to articulate the industry leading, sophisticated margin lending models and reporting that Morgan Stanley offers once fully trained. All degree (or equivalent course) disciplines considered.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • Experience in people management including developing people, leading change and execution on people strategy
  • Exposure to Prime Brokerage, hedge funds industry, derivatives products or Margin & Collateral an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal with senior internal clients & a team of experienced professionals
  • Demonstration in their past work experience of robust analytical skills, high attention to detail, diligence, risk management capabilities and a control mind-set
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as being a solid team player. Being proactive and getting things done without being chased is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills / confidence to engage with Sales & Trading, IT and our stakeholders, peers and colleagues
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire to advance their personal & career development
  • Strong product knowledge across equities and derivatives is an advantage
  • Computer literate and familiar with most packages and Excel / Access / TEAMS / Powerpoint
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, expecting that the likely candidates would have developed the necessary competencies in a similar role over 6 years minimum period within this industry as a prerequisite
