Equity Derivatives Desk Strategist, Associate, Business Intelligence

Morgan Stanley's Equities division is looking for a desk strategist for its Equity Derivative Strategist team. Desk strategists are key participants, together with traders and sales people, in the revenue-generating activities of our Sales & Trading Division. Desk strategists sit on the trading desk, are the primary modellers for new products, and team with the traders to deliver innovative ideas, analyse risks and trading opportunities.

Pr i m a ry R e s p o n si b i l iti e s

• Build cutting edge tools for sales, trading and risk management of equity derivative products.
• Work closely with sales & trading to analyse large datasets to improve desk efficiency and assist decision making.
• Build and monitor ETL jobs.
• Create and distribute new data sets of interest to the business.

S k ills/Experience re q uir e d

• Relevant experience in a similar role on the buy or sell side
• Master degree in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science
• Strong programming skills in Python, (Java, kdb/q are a plus).
• Data engineering, databases, SQL, Data science are a plus.
• Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical background, risk modelling skills is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
• Ability to interact with front office and technology
