Emerging Technology Engagement Manager
We're seeking someone to join our team as an Emerging Technology Engagement Manager.

We are seeking an Engagement Manager to help scale our Emerging Tech service, which accelerates the evaluation and adoption of innovative technology solutions across the Firm globally. We do this by evaluating new technologies in partnership with business and technology to enhance Morgan Stanley's competitive edge and enable business transformation.
The ideal candidate brings proven customer and portfolio management expertise, either from prior roles in Customer Success or Technical Program Management. They will have a track record of successfully managing multiple engagements at once with direct interaction with senior leaders in both business and technology roles. A successful Engagement Manager will manage the overall portfolio, engage with internal clients on new engagements, manage projects, and manage vendor relationships including understanding product capabilities and contracting. In addition, they will be a key part of our team's ability to cultivate strategic relationships both within our Firm, large strategics, startups and other ecosystem partners.

This is an Emerging Technology Engagement Manager position at a Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for overseeing and leading the execution of multiple projects and/or programs, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. Includes program management and related project support roles.

What you'll do in the role:
Reporting into the Head of the Emerging Technology Team, this role will support and maintain engagements between the various technology providers and evaluation teams from Technology, Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Institutional Solutions. Primary elements of the role include:
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve trusted advisor and advocate for our internal clients on evaluations led by Emerging Tech
- Partner cross-functionally with Sector Coverage, Labs, Sourcing & Legal to deliver a seamless experience for our internal clients and a coordinated engagement with external vendors
- Ensure successful internal client and vendor interactions including setting agenda, aligning on intended outcomes, identifying relevant participants and carrying out meetings and events related to evaluations
- Handle and coordinate escalation of issues (contractual or operational) with vendors, ensuring suitable leaders at the Firm and vendor are involved
- Primary client and vendor base will be in the US, although there will be requirements to work across Asia, Europe, and North America

Project & Portfolio Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Translate requirements specifications on problem statements, use-cases, and ultimately test cases at the right granularity to ensure measurable outcomes
- Manage relationships with external vendors, understanding product market fit, onboarding, demo facilitation, and product capabilities
- Validate E2E requirements via reviews, walkthroughs, and demo. Partner with our internal clients to develop use cases and conduct UAT test cases
- Train users on the products and how to evaluate the products
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing risk management strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes
- Create comprehensive documentation, engagement charter, test cases, scorecards, etc. to guide development and implementation.
- Monitor project progress, adjusting plans and schedules as needed, and providing regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project or program lifecycle
- Manage the overall portfolio health, ensure accurate reporting, pipeline management and close out activities
- Author and publish internal features highlight new and complete projects and big wins
What you'll bring to the role:
- 7+ years of experience with 3+ years relevant experience with strong project management skills
- Strong and effective communications skills (written and verbal) and relationship building skills to effectively engage and influence senior leadership and peers across Technology and Business globally.
- Demonstrates innovative approach to problem solving with a willingness to self-learn / explore new technologies, embodies a can-do attitude, resilient to various process and technical challenges, and highly execution oriented in getting things done autonomously.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter and able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple projects and tasks with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment with urgency
- Experience working in technology organization with one or more of the following technologies / technology teams: Cyber, AI, cloud, infra, networking, data, software development
- Experience using agile frameworks and tools such as JIRA
- Experience using Salesforce and/or other CRM tools
- Background in engineering / technology is a plus as well as exposure to non-PM/BA tooling
