FINANCE Technology (FINTECH) provides innovative solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, general ledger, profit & loss calculations, securities bookkeeping, budgeting & forecasting, and tax filing. The group leverages a state-of-the-art multi-terabyte financial data warehouse as one of its main assets to service the Firm's Finance division

What you'll do in the role:
We are seeking a seasoned and versatile Senior Software Engineer to join our Finance Infrastructure Data Ingestion team. This individual will play a key role in the continued development and modernization of our critical data processing platform. This ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, a deep understanding of CI/CD and testing best practices, and extensive experience working in Linux environments. A background in data warehouse technologies and manager or mentorship experience will be considered strong assets.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems in Perl or Python using object-oriented principles
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Jenkins) and testing frameworks, with a strong emphasis on unit testing and test-driven development (TDD)
• Contribute to the modernization of our ETL and data infrastructure environment, working across full stack components
• Develop and debug applications on Linux, leveraging shell scripting and command-line expertise
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions
• Interact with various RDMBS systems such as Teradata, Sybase, DB2, or PostgreSQL
• Support data processing workloads in MPP data warehouse environments
• Manage/Mentor junior team members, provide code reviews, and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
What you'll bring to the role:
4+ years of professional software development experience, including full stack exposure
• Proficiency in Perl or Python, with strong object-oriented design and implementation skills
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build automation tools, preferably Jenkins
• Strong foundation in unit testing and TDD methodologies
• Expert-level Linux user, with proven ability to write and debug shell scripts
• Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL; familiarity with Teradata, Sybase, DB2, or PostgreSQL is a plus
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and MPP systems is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Azure and Snowflake cloud platforms is an advantage
• Prior experience mentoring or managing junior developers is a plus
• Working knowledge of Agile software development practices At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
