Join Morgan Stanley's Credit Risk team and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of leading European corporate clients across the Energy, Utilities, Healthcare and Media sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced credit professional to combine deep credit expertise, commercial judgment, and strategic thinking while partnering with senior stakeholders across the Firm.

As a Vice President, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating complex credit opportunities, shaping risk decisions, and supporting the growth of Morgan Stanley's lending and financing activities across Europe. You'll gain exposure to industry-leading clients, sophisticated transactions, and a dynamic international environment where your expertise will directly influence business outcomes.

In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyse and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of European corporate lending relationships across the Energy, Utilities, Healthcare, Technology, and Media sectors
  • Perform in-depth credit analysis, assess financial performance, and evaluate key industry and market risks
  • Lead credit underwriting and transaction approval processes for new and existing lending opportunities
  • Present recommendations to senior risk managers and credit committees, influencing strategic credit decisions
  • Partner closely with Investment Banking, Corporate Lending, Sales & Trading, and other business teams to support client activity while maintaining a strong risk framework
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and proactively develop mitigation strategies
  • Stay informed on industry trends, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes impacting portfolio companies
  • Support complex financing transactions, including syndicated loans, acquisition financings, and other structured lending solutions
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous enhancement of credit risk practices


What you'll bring to the role:

  • Significant experience in corporate credit analysis, credit risk management, corporate banking, leveraged finance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of corporate financial statements, cash flow analysis, credit metrics, and lending structures
  • Demonstrated expertise assessing large corporate borrowers, ideally within Energy, Utilities, Healthcare, Technology, or Media sectors
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to balance risk management with commercial objectives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence interacting with senior decision-makers
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment
