We're seeking someone to join our EMEA Commodities product control team that is part of the Fixed Income Controllers Group. The immediate team consists of 4 persons in London with a deployed team of 6 in Mumbai supporting the production aspects of the role.

This is a Vice President level position within the Product Controllers Job Family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area, as well as management reporting across business segments or cross functional end-to-end product oversight.

The team's overall role is to provide financial analysis and business performance metrics to support senior management decision making. This encompasses daily revenue analysis, profitability and balance sheet reporting plus liquidity, funding & capital analysis. The team is also responsible for signing off the month end financial statements and presentation of these to firm management and external auditors/regulators.

The Global Product Control team (GPC) are responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. GPC prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators.

For internal reporting GPC, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarises, plans and

forecasts the organisation's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.

This is an analytical and review role in the Commodities product control team. The role has standard daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly deliverables as well as a significant amount of adhoc queries.

What you'll do in the role:

-Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm

-Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment

-Proactively identify emerging risks and contributing to strategies for mitigating them

-Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards

-Reviewing P&L's produced in Mumbai & distribution of this information to the BU and internal clients

-Producing and reviewing month-end close processes for the business unit

-Attesting to data with respect to the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements which will ultimately role up into the externally reported financial statements

-Assisting with production of monthly business packs for desk heads

-Liaising with accounting policy to address any accounting questions from new trade proposals

-Building and maintenance networks with the Business Unit and other divisions

-Understanding balance sheet, liquidity & funding movements related to the business activities

-Completing adhoc projects and queries as required by senior Finance and Business Unit management

-Manage, attract, develop and retain talent for team within Finance while creating an inclusive environment; translate Firmwide goals into actionable goals for department/function

What you'll bring to the role:

-Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment

-Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members

-Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences, and create plans to mitigate those risks

-Graduate and preferable a qualified accountant

-Previous work experience in financial services, audit or accounting (product control experience preferrable)

-Knowledge of financial products - Fixed Income products and Commodities would be preferable

-High regard for attention to detail and accuracy

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple stakeholders

-Ability to partner and work effectively both with direct team members and with colleagues across the wider organisation

-High self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member

-Awareness of emerging industry trends such as Basel capital rules

-At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
