We're seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Associate who First point of contact for client issues as a primary account manager - oversee the client's accounts and be involved in all client issues including, but not limited to: financing, margin, trade clearing and settlement, cash management and corporate events.

Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage is dedicated to client service and cultivates an environment of process control, accuracy and efficiency. The Client Services team has professionals located in offices throughout the world - New York, San Francisco, London, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

The Prime Brokerage Client Service Mumbai team is a comprehensive partner to the global PB organization offering centralization across the vast spectrum of client service functions for our hedge fund clients. Our specialized analysts are the complete owner of the proprietary accounting and reporting platform "Morgan Stanley Portfolio Accounting" (MSPA). The team also works integrally with other prime brokerage teams like sales, finance, non-market risk, asset owner, capital introductions and technology. Commitment from senior PB management in NY, London and HK to leverage expertise and knowledge of the Mumbai team to the maximum has resulted in the team being core members of global working groups and project teams.

The Mumbai team includes chartered accountants, MBA and other professionals with ambitious learning goals, strong analytical skills and eagerness to accept challenging assignments. Our teams are structured according to client needs and include both senior and junior members. We have made consistent and significant investments in our technology platform. The result of our efforts-a highly automated exception-based processing system and state-of-the-art tools and applications-allow our client service team to better focus on analysis of client needs and quick response to client inquiries.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Analysis of financial products like equities, bonds, options, futures, Repo, CDS, MBS, swaps, OTC derivatives and monitoring their cash flows and performance for hedge fund clients on MS reporting platforms
  • Researching of various corporate action deals affecting client portfolios and ensuring that they are accounted as per the terms of the events
  • Handling inquiries from clients and Fund Administrators
  • Liaising with various teams in Morgan Stanley such as swaps, listed derivatives, interest, finance and stock loan
  • Performing activities around regulatory, compliance and internal risk controls
  • Perform root cause analysis to increase use of STP and enhance operational efficiencies
  • Analyze client balances, revenue trends and market share
  • Assisting in client due diligence, request for new proposals and client fee schedules
  • Working closely with primary account manager to understand requirements and providing solutions on client reporting, P&L variances, transfers of assets, margin etc.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • Chartered Accountant or M.B.A. from reputed Institutes with 2 to 5 Years Experience in an Investment Bank or Custodian Bank with focus on capital markets and proficiency in financial products
  • Excellent analytical skills to work on capital market products
  • Ability to anticipate and provide solutions to complex business and operational problems
  • Fluency in English and excellent articulation skills to present own views while dealing with various Morgan Stanley groups in India and overseas
  • Ability to work well in teams and manage relationships with global colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, managing expectations along the way
  • Aptitude to work on multiple proprietary systems/ applications
  • Ability to work efficiently on MS Excel spreadsheets and MS PowerPoint
