Client Onboarding Operations : Job Level - Analyst/Associate
Overview
Client Onboarding is a function within Client Onboarding Regulatory Data Services (CORDS), responsible for delivering end-to-end client onboarding and regulatory compliance support. We are seeking a junior-level professional to join the Operations division, supporting Client Onboarding/ Client Implementation.
The team manages onboarding across Equities and Fixed Income products, including Listed Derivatives and OTC Clearing. The role also supports regulatory requirements such as KYC due diligence, FIEL, and MiFID II for both new and existing clients.
You will act as a key coordinator across the onboarding lifecycle - partnering with Sales & Trading, Credit, KYC, Legal, Documentation, Regulatory, and downstream Operations teams - to ensure timely, controlled client launches, enhance client experience, and drive process improvements through data, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes, ensuring timely and accurate client onboarding in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, UMR, QFC).
- Serve as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients, responding to onboarding-related queries and coordinating documentation requirements.
- Partner with Business, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams throughout onboarding and KYC reviews-from initiation to completion.
- Review, validate, and maintain client data and documentation in internal systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts, including technology enhancements and process simplification.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in the Financial Services Industry
- Proactive, analytical and problem-solving skills. Problem structuring, analyses, and recommending solutions
- Judgment in when to escalate issues and taking charge as needed to prevent/minimize the impact
- Multi-task and task prioritization
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team
- JSDA Level 1/2
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office Applications (especially in PowerPoint, Excel
Skills Desired
- Project management and process enhancement/improvement experiences.
- Relevant professional experiences, such as client onboarding, client services and securities operations functions
- Familiarity with Japan and Global regulations (e.g. CIP, FIEL, MIFID, FATCA, etc.)
- JSDA Internal Control Manager.
