Business Information Security Officer (Cyber Technology Risk)

We're seeking someone to join as a Vice President-level Risk Professional to our CTIS Oversight team in Budapest, a high-visibility role where you will directly influence how Morgan Stanley manages and strengthens its cyber and technology risk posture across EMEA.

The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) plays a critical role as part of the Second Line of Defence, providing independent oversight across operational and compliance risks. NFR spans the full breadth of our business-from revenue-generating activities to infrastructure-ensuring that risks arising from processes, systems, people, or external events are proactively identified, assessed, and managed.

Lead at the forefront of Cyber, Technology & Information Security risk in an increasingly digital and interconnected world, Cyber, Technology and Information Security (CTIS) risks are central to maintaining the Firm's stability and reputation.

Our NFR CTIS team brings together deep expertise in:

  • Rule-setting and standards development
  • Risk assessment across technology domains
  • Control design and effectiveness testing
  • Business advisory and independent oversight

What you'll do in the role:
  • Drive independent oversight and challenge across CTIS risks and controls
  • Shape risk narratives and insights that inform senior stakeholders
  • Partner with global teams to ensure robust, consistent risk management practices
  • Contribute thought leadership in a rapidly evolving risk landscape
  • Reporting to the Head of CTIS NFR EMEA, you will be positioned at the heart of strategic risk decision-making.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • BA degree (Computer Science or Information Security, preferable but not essential)
  • 10+ years' worth of technology and or security risk related work experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Experience in Technology (IT) Risk Management and or Technology (IT) Audit including Information Security, Cyber Security or Resilience risk
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to tailor communication to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Relevant industry certifications e.g. CISA. CISM, an added advantage
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a team-oriented environment
