The AUM & Flows Reporting team within Data & Analytics department is responsible for the accurate and timely production, validation, and distribution of assets under management (AUM) and flow data across the firm. Their work supports internal stakeholders, regulatory reporting, and external communications.
Data & Analytics is seeking a Vice President - AUM & Flows Reporting Specialist to join MSIM's AUM & Flows Reporting team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of AUM and net flow data across the firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong data mindset, experience with financial reporting, and the ability to collaborate across functions.
Key Details:
- Core Responsibilities: Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of AUM and flows across multiple dimensions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborates closely with Distribution, Strategy, Marketing, Finance, and Technology to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Process & Controls: Maintains robust data validation processes, exception handling, and audit trails to support governance and compliance standards.
- Initiatives & Enhancements: Actively involved in automation, dashboard development, and data quality initiatives to streamline reporting and improve transparency.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Oversee and support production of daily, weekly, and monthly AUM and flow reports across multiple hierarchies (e.g., product, region, client type).
- Ensure data integrity across systems and coordinate with Finance, Product, Operations, Technology and Distribution teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Manage internal and external communications for AUM & Flows inquiries with accuracy and timeliness.
Data Governance and Controls
- Execute and enhance data validation checks, exception handling, and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails to support regulatory and internal governance requirements.
- Partner with Technology and Data Management teams to ensure alignment with enterprise data standards.
Transformations
- Support the design, testing and implementation of automated workflows using tools like Alteryx or Python.
- Contribute to the development of scalable data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
- Participate in initiatives to streamline data sourcing, reduce manual touchpoints, and improve data quality.
Consumer Enablement
- Build and maintain dashboards and self-service tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for business stakeholders.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for Distribution, Product, and Executive audiences.
- Provide training and documentation to empower users and promote data literacy.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management financial reporting or data management roles.
- Familiarity with AUM and flow concepts, investment products, and client data.
- Ability to manage complex data programs and deliver measurable business value.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in designing and developing data control frameworks.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Alteryx skills are a strong plus.
- Ability to handle multiple high-priority items at once.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
