What you'll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Banking in New York, New York to liaise between U.S. based teams involved in Latin America's transactions and local issuers, regulators, and investors to foster interconnectivity between regions. Provide coverage of non-bank lenders and fintechs, delivering financing solutions (primarily asset-backed financings) and tailored hedging strategies. Work closely with EM Structured Lending, Commercial Real Estate Lending, and FID Secured Lending teams to originate and source credit assets for distribution to Financial Institutions across Mexico and the broader Latin American region. Active interaction with clients (specifically Financial Institutions) to address their needs of Structured Financing, Balance Sheet Optimization, Investment Solutions, and Yield Enhancement. Engage collaboratively with Structuring and Trading teams to develop and execute tailored solutions for Asset-Liability Committees of Banks in Mexico and Latin America.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study.

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation.

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

  • hedging and financing solutions for corporations, non-bank financial institutions, and sovereign and quasi-sovereign entities;
  • modelling interest rates and foreign exchange derivatives;
  • documentation and legal framework used for lending and derivatives transactions in Latin America;
  • communicating financial concepts in pitchbooks and marketing materials;
  • coordinating execution of transactions including traders, sales, structurers, investment bankers, legal, middle and back office;
  • capital structures and operating models of Mexican non-bank financial institutions including leasing companies, payroll lenders, and fintech platforms;
  • Return on Equity models, implications of balance sheet usage, and potential de-risking alternatives;
  • coordinating transaction documentation with relevant stakeholders and post-closing monitoring;
  • Debt Capital Market transactions for Latin America issuers; supporting deal execution, and contributing to client discussions around capital structure and funding alternatives;
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg.

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

Relationship and Structured Lending including preparing materials for credit and capital committee approvals.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $275,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
