Department Profile
The Fixed Income Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, Commodities and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.
The Asia Structured Credit Strats team is looking for a highly motivated VP level candidate to help support the Asia Structured Credit business.
The candidate will work closely with credit exotics traders in Hong Kong and senior strats in London on day-to-day trading and structuring needs, including pricing, valuation, hedging, and risk management.
The candidate will require deep understanding of high level mathematical models used for pricing structured products or mitigating risks, and also an ability to interact and cooperate with global teams.
Role Profile
- Develop new pricing models and maintain and improve existing models: this will involve developing or prototyping the mathematical model, and then implementing it in the code so that IT can take it to production
- Work with traders to price incoming trades, provide quick tools for desk to solve problems in front of business
- Partner closely with controllers and the model risk groups on model documentation and approval
- Working with various corporate functions such as Technology, Finance, Risk, COO, OPS etc. to drive the business forward
Skills Required
- MSc. or PhD in mathematical finance, mathematics, physics or engineering.
- Solid mathematical foundations, especially probability theory and statistics.
- Experience on an Exotic trading desk (e.g., structured credit or rates, FX exotics) would be ideal
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong coding / scripting skills (C++; Scala a plus)
- Strong communication skills to interact with trading desk
