Technical Lead Manager, New Product Introductions (NPI) Operations

As Meta's datacenter infrastructure grows rapidly in scope and scale the increased technical complexity and velocity of new product introductions requires exceptional organization and integration of activities across numerous internal and external teams and manufacturing sites. Meta's Infrastructure organization is seeking a highly seasoned professional with a proven track record of consistently driving projects forward and identifying opportunities to increase impact. The ideal candidate is an experienced Technical Lead Manager of the New Product Introduction Operations team, who spends part of their time leading a Taipei-based Program Management team and the remainder managing New Product Introductions and process improvements related to New Product Introduction. The scope involves leading teams to navigate fast paced and ambiguous development environments, providing clarity and alignment on supply chain and material management risks, identifying critical paths and blockers, and driving successful on-time and on-quality delivery of Meta's highest-priority NPI AI/ML, compute, storage, rack power, thermal/cooling, & network hardware across our global data center footprint. This position will work closely with external manufacturing partners and Meta internal stakeholders including AI & hardware engineering, technical program management, manufacturing operations, and all supply chain functions.

Technical Lead Manager, New Product Introductions (NPI) Operations Responsibilities:
  • Manage, oversee, and guide the supply chain, NPI and mass production materials team resources (full time employees and contractors) with the responsibility of performance, career development, growth and recruiting
  • Act as Taipei site lead, supporting all Taipei based Infrastructure team members and building an collaborative work environment, aligned to Meta values, community-oriented and bringing their needs to local and global organization leadership. Establish partnership with key cross-functional teams to address local needs, leveraging regional experience to navigate Taiwan complexities
  • Work with cross-functional partners: Hardware, software engineering business partners, data center business stakeholders and external partners (suppliers, vendors, consultants), to implement NPIs with fast paced time to market goals, enabling the Meta infrastructure vision
  • Collaborate with leadership teams and establish a partnership to represent programs and NPI supply chain across the organization and partners
  • Establish, reinforce and operate robust and appropriate program management practices to ensure NPI programs are delivered through the NPI hardware product lifecycle, with efficient build, test and manufacturing technical readiness, executing using industry best practices in NPI risk mitigation and supply chain risk management
  • Identify & implement a new cross-functional, long term robust system and process for aligning NPI supply chain continuity goals
  • Manage supply chain risks across NPI programs, develop risk mitigation plans, and develop process standardization and improvements in material risk management
  • Partner with commercial, technical and commodity sourcing teams to identify pain points and implement process improvements to meet fast paced NPI schedules
  • Propose and lead NPI materials planning workflows and continuous process improvements & identify process automation opportunities
  • Identify operational pain points and improvement opportunities across internal and external processes and workflows and drive improvements across multiple teams and functions
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering discipline
  • 15+ years of experience operating in a supply chain & manufacturing environment
  • 12+ years of program management experience, demonstrating a track record of working collaboratively with broad cross-functional teams and partners across multiple global locations
  • 5+ years in direct people management experience,
  • Demonstrated experience adapting to change, take initiative and thriving in ambiguity, building cross functional relationships, managing individual / team / organization-level conflict, and resiliency, leadership & motivation
  • Experience working in international teams based out of a variety of global locations
  • Comprehensive end to end supply chain & NPI business processes knowledge (Plan, Source, Make/Deliver, Deploy) and related support functions (Master Data Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Engineering and Quality) in a high-tech environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with hardware engineering, TPM, and manufacturing partners teams across the supply chain functions
  • Experience leading cross-functional mission strategies to improve New Product Introduction processes & time to market
  • Problem solving and executive communication experience
  • 20% domestic and international travel is required to visit Supplier's sites locally in Taiwan on a regular basis
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience building teams from zero to one
