Senior Engineering Manager, System Software

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Software Team, which is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, testing, and productization of systems software for wearable devices running on Android (AOSP) and/or RTOS. The team's scope covers several key areas - Core OS: BSP, Firmware, OS Services; Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, Location technologies; Multimedia: Audio, Camera, Display, Graphics; System Health: Performance, Power, Thermal Management, Latency, Memory etc. In this leadership role, you will: champion technical excellence across all systems software domains, manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and engineering managers, foster cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust, scalable, and innovative systems software platforms for our wearable products. Your expertise will be critical in shaping the future of our wearable device ecosystem and ensuring our platforms meet the highest standards of reliability and innovation.

Senior Engineering Manager, System Software Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, including direct management of engineers and engineering managers
  • Drive the full lifecycle of Systems Software development for Android and MCU platforms, as well as iOS and Android applications-from initial design through to product launch
  • Establish technical vision and uphold best practices in software architecture, code quality, and comprehensive testing
  • Partner closely with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and deliver all Systems Software requirements
  • Remain up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies to inform strategy and execution
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Over 15 years of direct technical management experience within software engineering
  • Track record of managing managers and leading large, distributed engineering teams
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and productization of products based on Android and MCU platforms
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, encompassing design, testing, and deployment
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience building and scaling systems software for wearable devices
  • Expertise across systems software components, including operating systems, connectivity, multimedia, and system health
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready software in fast-paced environments
  • Background in cross-functional collaboration with product and design teams
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent
