Network Engineer, Foundation Services Automation

Edge Network Services (ENS) organization designs, builds(deploys), and supports(operates) a network of 3.5B+ active users of at least one Meta App Daily, 3B+ active users from instagram, 3B+ users from whatsapp and 2B+ daily users of Facebook app. The ENS organization is organized into three global groups: "ENS Deployment," "ENS Foundation," and "ENS Global Operations." Each group has global scope across the lifecycle of support. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for executing on our vision for automated capacity deployment through development of key features on our deployment system. . Network Engineer, Foundation Services Automation Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Front-end and Back-end Systems: Design, code, and modify user interface and applications from layout to function, according to specifications. Strive to create visually appealing sites and applications that feature user-friendly design, clear navigation, and maximum functionality
• Handle database administration and ensure the integrity of data with proper database design and maintenance techniques
• Maintain clear documentation of the codebase, user guides, and on-call runbooks that users and future developers can quickly understand and work with the system
• Collaborate with internal and cross functional partner teams to build integrations between commonly used tools and systems
• Help build performance monitoring tooling and dashboards and participate in troubleshooting of any issues that may arise
• Report, troubleshoot, and drive to resolution issues in upstream tooling

• 10+ years of experience Automation experience in the Networking domain in large scale networks
• Knowledge and Experience with Network Deployment Process
• Knowledge of PHP and Javascript or similar web programming languages
• Knowledge and experience in Python
• Knowledge and experience in MySQL
• Knowledge and experience working with APIs
• Knowledge of Linux OS/networking
• Ability to work within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision
• Ability to work independently, finding solutions to problems in a fast changing environment

• BS or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience with developing or operating distributed systems at scale
• Experience with React, Hack, and/or GraphQL
• Knowledge of technology-agnostic approach to engineering
