The RL Silicon team is responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge silicon solutions that power Meta's Reality Labs products. The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Mixed Reality require custom silicon. As a key part of the Hardware Recruiting Team, we are seeking experienced individuals to join our team of experts who design, develop, and deliver custom silicon solutions that enable the creation of innovative MR products. Our team works closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, architect and design silicon solutions, and collaborate with internal and external partners to bring these solutions to life. We are seeking engineers at all levels who will work with an industry-leading group of researchers and engineers using your digital design skills to implement and contribute to the development and optimization of low power machine learning accelerators and state-of-the-art SoCs.

Digital Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) digital µArchitecture and design for low-power interconnect and power management IPs, low-power rendering hardware accelerators or chip-level infrastructure and I/O logic
  • Assist with performance and power analysis of the design
  • Work with system and silicon architects to realize designs that satisfy product requirements
  • Work across disciplines such as verification, physical design, and design-for-test to brainstorm big ideas and build new methodologies
  • Support hand-off and integration of blocks into larger System on Chip (SoC) environments
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a Hardware Design Engineer for production silicon shipped in volume
  • Experience in digital design µArchitecture, RTL coding
  • Experience with at least 1 procedural programming language (C, C++, Python etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in SoC bus and interconnect protocols
  • Knowledge of physical design and low-power implementation
  • Experience with high-speed I/O protocols (e.g. PCIe, USB, MIPI, LPDDR)
  • Experience in SoC integration and ASIC architecture

$142,000/year to $203,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
