Sr./Staff, DevOps Engineer

Merge is seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to join our Foundations Engineering team. The right person will be excited to join a team of expert DevOps engineers, lead critical infrastructure architectural decisions, and empower developers to deploy and scale their services safely and consistently. We are hiring for senior - to staff - level positions, with candidate evaluation based on a combination of relevant experience and performance in the interview process.
What you will do:
- With reliability and scalability in mind, partner with other engineering teams to produce highly performant architectures that extend to our largest customers, reading and writing millions of rows per second across numerous databases, workers, and services
- Participate in roadmapping, and influence platform decisions
- Produce high-quality, production-ready, maintainable infrastructure as code
- Lead large projects from initial inception to launch, and mentor other engineers
- Run production systems at scale
- Participate in on-call rotation and infrastructure maintenance
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of full-time DevOps experience
- Deep experience with AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Ability to own the design and deployment of highly scalable systems
- Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Python, Elasticsearch, Redis, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Kinesis, EC2/GCE, EKS/GKE

Compensation:
- The cash compensation range for this role is $153,000- $240,000 (depending on level)
- Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all full time employees receive an equity compensation package.
