Who are we looking for?

We are hiring a backend engineer with ML/AI experience onto our Automation & Applied AI team. Our team is focused on harnessing Applied AI and large language models (LLMs) to build net-new, externally facing products and to drive internal efficiency through automation, intelligent tooling, and AI-native user experiences.

What you will do:
  • Build and maintain AI-powered applications: Design production-grade software that integrates machine learning models into real-world systems
  • Fine-tuning and prompt engineering: Adapt base models to specific product needs through techniques like few-shot prompting, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or fine-tuning
  • Tooling and infrastructure: Develop internal tools, orchestration systems, and evaluation frameworks to support ML product development
  • Experimentation: Run A/B tests and analyze performance metrics to guide model and product iterations
  • Leadership and autonomy: Participate in roadmapping and architecture discussions, leading large projects from initial inception to production
  • Cross-functional teamwork: Work across disciplines, from infra to UX, to ship full-stack AI features
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 7-10+ years of full-time software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years working with ML/AI systems in production
  • Proven experience building production applications that incorporate ML models (e.g., LLMs, recommendation systems, classification models)
  • Experience with serving and scaling ML models
  • Startup or SaaS experience preferred, with an ability to perform in a fast paced environment dealing with ambiguous technical challenges
  • Experience with Python, Golang, & AWS cloud infrastructure (or similar technologies)
Compensation:
  • The cash compensation range for this role is $209,000 - $232,000
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all full time employees receive an equity compensation package
