About the Opportunity
Mendaera is looking for a C++ Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement hardware and software to automate surgical interventions based on real-time multimodal imaging and sensor information.
The C++ Software Engineer will work with Mendaera’s co-founders to shape the Company’s solution definition and execute robot development. The position reports to Mendaera’s Chief Technology Officer, and will collaborate closely with our product management and engineering teams. The annual salary range for this role is $124,000 - $185,000.
About You
We are looking for candidates who: thrive in fast-paced environments; embrace ambiguity; can create frameworks and work-product from scratch; are able to level between micro and macro analysis; possess critical and system thinking ability; are detail oriented.
C++ Software Engineer responsibilities include:
- Working with product to translate user and business requirements to technical problem statements and specifications that address unmet needs
- Write and maintain robust, performant, and fault-tolerant software in a firm real-time system
- Participate in and advocate for software best practices (unit testing, code review, etc.)
- Design and implement debugging/visualization tools, test harnesses, and subsystem metrics to assist in the analysis and understanding of the system as a whole.
- Collaborate with engineers across hardware, perception, product, and clinical groups.
Desired skills:
- Advanced technical degree and at least 5+ years industry experience
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and independent.
- Excellent technical and analytical capability, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence and ability to build and manage diverse relationships.
- Versatility and ability to operate in a small-team environment
- Strong C++ development skills, software design skills, and algorithms and data structures knowledge
- Experience with ROS and/or firm real-time systems a plus
