The Director, Network Engineering & IT Site Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for end to end IT operational excellence across all enterprise locations while leading the strategy, engineering, and lifecycle management of the company's global network and connectivity platforms. This role ensures high availability, reliability, security, and performance of site technology services and enterprise networks. The director is also responsible for the procurement and management of hand-held devices for corporate and distribution centers. This role will have a particular focus on network architecture and engineering for maintaining high availability across all locations of McLane. The director partners closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Workplace Technology, Business Operations, and Executive Leadership to deliver resilient, scalable, and modernized IT environments aligned with business priorities.
This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What you'll do as a Network Engineering & IT Site Operations Director:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies and roadmaps for IT network, connectivity, device management, and site operations. Establish performance metrics, SLAs, and KPIs to measure service quality and operational effectiveness. Build a culture of operational excellence, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily technology operations across all corporate locations, data centers, regional offices, and facilities. Ensure timely support, maintenance, and lifecycle management of end-user technologies, site infrastructure, and on-prem systems. Manage site readiness for new openings, expansions, consolidations, and major facility changes.
- Network Engineering: Own the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operations of enterprise network platforms, including LAN, WAN, Wi-fi, VPN & remote access, and cloud connectivity, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Oversee the redesign of network architecture for cloud and edge computing.
- Technical Governance & Compliance: Ensure alignment with security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Partner with Cybersecurity to safeguard network and site infrastructure. Define policies, standards, and operational procedures to ensure consistent execution across all sites.
- Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of IT professionals and engineers. Foster a collaborative environment and conduct performance evaluations.
- Vendor and Budget Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with vendors and service providers. Develop and manage the IT operations budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-optimization opportunities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Workplace Experience, Facilities, Security, HR, and business units to ensure integrated site technology support. Partner with Cloud, Application, and Infrastructure teams to enable seamless end to end service delivery. Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational and network issues.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Network Engineering & IT Site Operations Director:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required. A master's degree (e.g., MBA, MS in IT Management) is preferred.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in IT operations, Network Engineering or infrastructure management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-site or enterprise-scale environments.
- Deep technical understanding of network architecture, cloud computing, data center operations, virtualization technologies, and security principles. Background modernizing network and site technology landscapes in hybrid-cloud environments.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage diverse teams. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and C-level executives.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
