Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient PLM Windchill (WC) Senior Developer to support the development, customization, and integration of the PTC Windchill platform, FlexPLM, ThingWorx and CAD applications within CPG indistry. This role will focus on delivering scalable solutions that enhance product lifecycle management capabilities across Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing functions. The developer will also play a key role in supporting digital transformation initiatives using ThingWorx for  dashboards, and process automation. The candidate must be willing to work on site 4 days a week in Hyderabad, during US EST time zone. 

 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities: 

Windchill Development 

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom modules, workflows, and user interfaces within the Windchill PLM environment. 

  • Implement and enhance business rules, lifecycle templates, data models, and access control settings. 

  • Support Windchill configurations related to BOM management, change management, document control, and CAD data integrations.

ThingWorx Development 

  • Develop and deploy custom ThingWorx mashups, services, and dashboards to extend PLM capabilities and enable real-time visibility into product and process data. 

  • Integrate ThingWorx applications with Windchill and other enterprise systems for enhanced user experience and insights. 

  • Support digital thread initiatives using ThingWorx analytics and connectivity modules. 

Integrations & System Support 

  • Develop APIs and interfaces to integrate Windchill with ERP, MES, CAD, and regulatory systems. 

  • Troubleshoot performance, security, and data quality issues within Windchill and ThingWorx. 

  • Provide tier-2/3 support for PLM users and partner with infrastructure teams on upgrades, patches, and performance tuning. 

  • Develop enhancements, workflows, extensions, and configurations within FlexPLM/Windchill. 

  • Collaborate with business analysts and solution architects to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions. 

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide production support for existing PLM systems. 

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and PLM best practices. 

  • Participate in system upgrades, performance tuning, and migration projects. 

  • Oracle PL/SQL (required); use of Stored Procedures & Functions. 

Documentation & Collaboration 

  • Maintain detailed technical design documents, release notes, and deployment guides. 

  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, PLM architects, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions. 

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and system validation activities. 

Communication: Facilitate effective communication between offshore and onshore teams, ensuring transparency and alignment on project status, risks, and issues. 

Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational challenges to ensure smooth project execution. 

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or requirements. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill development (Customization, Workflows, Info*Engine, Java). 

  • Technical Skills: Act as a technical expert in developing and customizing FlexPLM, Windchill, and ThingWorx applications including mashups, data services, and integrations. Strong understanding of product lifecycle concepts, data models, and PLM best practices. Proficiency in Java, JSP, XML, and web services. Support the integration of CAD tools (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD) with PLM systems. 

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges. 

  • Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage teams across different time zones. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Windchill modules like PDMLink, MPMLink, and ProjectLink. 

  • Exposure to CAD integrations (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and visualization tools. 

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools (e.g., JIRA, Git). 

  • Knowledge of DevOps for Windchill/ThingWorx environments is a plus.
