Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize large-scale AWS and Azure cloud platforms, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient operations. The candidate should be able to automate daily activities, support deployment pipelines, develop observability for the cloud platforms. This role requires expertise in cloud concepts, advanced DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, and proficiency with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional skills in Kubernetes troubleshooting and deployments, Azure DevOps, Cloud Access Management, CloudFormation, and cloud networking.
Key Responsibilities
• Cloud Platform Management:
oDesign, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure AWS and Azure cloud environments.
oOptimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
oImplement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• DevOps and CI/CD:
oDevelop and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and other industry-standard tools.
oAutomate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes.
oTroubleshoot and resolve complex Kubernetes issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Cloud Security:
oImplement and enforce cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
oManage Cloud Access Management frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
oConduct regular security assessments and audits to mitigate risks.
• Monitoring and Observability:
oDesign and implement monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
oProactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
oDevelop dashboards and alerts to ensure real-time visibility into cloud operations.
• Cloud Networking: Good Knowledge of Networking concepts- maintains, and troubleshoots network hardware and software, resolves connectivity issues, implements security measures like firewalls, monitors network performance, and provides technical support to users.
oArchitect and manage cloud network infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and load balancers.

oEnsure secure and efficient connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
oTroubleshoot and optimize network performance for low latency and high throughput.
• Collaboration and Leadership:
oCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, security, and compliance, to align cloud operations with business goals.
oMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on cloud best practices.
oStay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
o7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 4 years focused on AWS and Azure platforms.
oProven experience managing large-scale cloud environments in a Fintech or similarly regulated industry.
oHands-on experience with Kubernetes troubleshooting, deployments, and cluster management.
oDemonstrated expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
oStrong background in cloud security principles and tools, including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
oExtensive experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
oProficiency in AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM templates, and cloud networking concepts.
• Technical Skills:
oExpert-level knowledge of cloud concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and architectures.
oAdvanced DevOps skills, including automation, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
oDeep understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancing).
oFamiliarity with Fintech-specific compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2) is a plus.
• Certifications (at least 1 of the below certifications or similar is mandatory)
oAWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
oMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
oCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
oSysOps or DevOps certification
• Soft Skills:
oExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
oStrong communication and collaboration abilities.
oAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
