Product Manager - Technical II
Overview
The Core Authentication team is responsible for MasterCard's safety and security related product development efforts to protect the integrity of the electronic payment system as well as ensure payments are convenient yet secure. The products are primarily focused on cyber security, authentication, fraud prevention, risk mitigation and dispute resolution across all payment channels as well as all stakeholders - issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors, and consumers. The key objectives of the solutions are to prove identity, reduce abandonments, reduce fraud, increase approval rates, and secure the payments ecosystem.
The Authentication Identity Check team within Core Payments is looking for a looking for a Product Manager - Technical to support the development of advanced, cloud-native applications that are transforming the payments landscape.
Role:
• Support the definition of product and service requirements across business, feature, and technical levels.
• Assist in breaking down business needs and customer experiences into features and user stories.
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Developers, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Participate in user story elaboration sessions and help ensure clarity for the SCRUM team.
• Contribute to product documentation and support the team throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay informed on customer needs, stakeholder priorities, and Mastercard product strategy.
• Be open to drive multiple scrum teams, work allocation and capacity planning.
All About You
• Strong interest in solving customer problems through technology.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with software architecture concepts, APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to read Java code and write basic SQL queries.
• 2-5 years of experience in product or technical roles, with at least 1 year in requirements analysis or elaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred
• Exposure to software development projects.
• Understanding of real-time, scalable systems.
• Interest or experience in the payments industry.
