Here's the scoop - Summary
The Global IT Business Partner serves as the strategic link between IT and all business units and regional leadership teams worldwide.
This role ensures IT strategies and initiatives are aligned with enterprise goals and regional priorities, acting as both the voice of the business within IT and the voice of IT within the business. The position is pivotal in business planning cycles, capturing and aligning IT needs with enterprise project portfolios, budgets, and resources.
The role also leads all external IT communications, developing tailored content for various audiences including executive leadership and driving visibility and engagement around IT's value and performance.
This role will be working at our Edmonton, Alberta CA or Louisville, Colorado US office and work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-person.
What a typical day looks like
Strategic Business Partnership & Alignment
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and business/regional leadership to ensure technology initiatives align with strategic business objectives.
- Serve as the central contact for various business partner needs, requests, and concerns, ensuring these are documented, prioritized, and addressed.
- Lead IT input into business planning cycles, capturing needs for new projects, resources, and budgets.
- Partner with leaders to co-develop business cases for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with IT strategy.
- Communicate IT priorities, roadmaps, and performance to leadership teams.
IT Communications Leadership
- Lead all external IT communications, including executive presentations and enterprise-wide messaging.
- Develop high-quality content for the CDIO and the IT leadership team.
- Design and execute communication strategies for IT initiatives.
- Establish communication standards and best practices for IT teams.
- Partner with Corporate Communications to align IT messages with corporate narratives.
Performance Management and KPIs
- Help define, implement, and monitor KPIs measuring IT service delivery, project success, and business impact.
- Develop dashboards and executive summaries for data-driven insights.
- Analyze trends and feedback for continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with the IT PMO associates for visibility on all IT projects.
- Align IT project communications with business priorities.
- Facilitate collaboration across IT, and business teams for integrated planning and budgeting.
- Engage with regional IT and business representatives for alignment and shared accountability.
Business Planning & Governance
- Own the IT-Business alignment process during planning cycles.
- Coordinate input from business units and regional leaders into IT planning.
- Partner with Finance to validate and track IT investments.
- Drive structured communication throughout the planning process.
Change & Engagement Leadership
- Support organizational change efforts related to IT transformation.
- Promote awareness of IT's value, initiatives, and achievements.
- Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Communications, or related field and experience.
- 6+ years of experience in IT business partnership, IT communications, or related IT leadership roles.
- Experience with global and regional stakeholders in matrixed organizations.
- Proven success managing business planning and alignment processes involving IT budgets, project portfolios, and strategy execution.
- Preferred Location: Boulder, Colorado; Edmonton, Canada

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position mayalso include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).
