Systems Administrator

The Role

MarketAxess is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll provide engineering and operational support for the firm’s desktop and handheld devices. You’ll work across a broad set of endpoint technologies to support internal teams and external clients, including end-user locations in New York City.

How You'll Help Take Us There

• Install, configure, and administer workstations, laptops, and handheld devices.
• Provide in-person and remote help desk support to a professional end-user community.
• Troubleshoot application and performance issues on end-user devices.
• Administer the firm’s mobile device management (MDM) platform.
• Support and troubleshoot wireless networks and remote access platforms.
• Partner with vendors to diagnose issues and repair or replace faulty hardware components.
• Respond promptly to incidents and service requests from end users and clients.
• Conduct proofs of concept and evaluations to test and validate desktop technologies.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track incidents and work items in ticketing systems, and maintain clear documentation.
• Support IT projects as needed.

What We’re Looking for  

• 3+ years of relevant experience (financial services experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting infrastructure services (e.g., AD/LDAP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls).
• Hands-on experience with remote access platforms (e.g., Palo Alto Global Protect, Netskope, and Cloudflare Zero Trust).
• Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) platforms and next-generation antivirus solutions.
• Strong knowledge of wireless technologies and concepts.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working in a time-pressured environment supporting a dynamic finance/trading organization.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Scripting is a plus (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $110,000 USD to $155,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
