The Role
Excellent opportunity to join the sales team covering large German based money managers. We are looking for a hard-working, dynamic self-starter who is also a team player. Our client sales team markets to institutional investors (including the world’s top 100 investment and asset management firms, mutual funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and others) across mostly fixed income credit & Emerging Market products.
How You’ll Help Take Us There
- Develop new and maintain existing client relationships in all MarketAxess product segments to achieve trade volume targets. Manage all client relationships in a manner consistent with the corporate goals of MarketAxess.
- Create and oversee the process for continuous evaluation of the existing client base, identify and rank underperforming clients, sectors and geographies; prioritise and manage and report remedial efforts.
- Schedule regular calls, visits and other contacts with clients and monitor effectiveness. (Frequent overseas travel to visit clients, conferences or MarketAxess offices will be required)
- Drive the process and work closely with all appropriate colleagues to turn around and execute client documentation as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Manage and direct process for training and setting up clients and taking them live. Continue to ensure all future client training needs are met.
- To develop client “stickiness”, lead the process of integrating clients with MarketAxess through STP connectivity
- Drive client trade enquiries through MarketAxess using an appropriate trading protocol.
- Identifying and on-boarding new clients
- Effectively marketing our products and services to clients thereby increasing client trade volume on the platform. Promotion of all credit products including $, EM and European sectors.
- Assist the dealer relationship management team in developing relationships with new dealers if requested. Ability to specify sectors traded at each dealer.
- Work with the US based client and dealer sales and product management teams to maximise US product volumes with European clients.
- Participate in client and product management team meetings and discussions.
- Participate in sales team meetings and events.
- Plan and manage backup and support arrangements in event of absence.
- Work closely with other members of the German-speaking sales team.
- Provide detailed client feedback to improve product development cycle
What We’re Looking For
- A sales-oriented personality, commercial awareness.
- Results driven, high energy and proactive work ethic.
- Solid understanding of how EU credit products are traded and sold.
- Relevant client sector experience, especially with asset managers. Must have current client contacts in Germany (and potentially other Germanic countries.)
- Results driven, high energy and proactive work ethic. Positive, engaged personality.
- Ability to articulate a compelling proposition for e-trading.
- University degree
- Ideally at least 5yrs sales experience with an investment bank, trading platform or vendor.
- Fluency in German and English required
