The Role

We have an excellent opportunity to join the Frankfurt sales team supporting Senior Sales Relationship Managers in covering large German- and Austrian-based money managers. We are looking for a hard-working, dynamic self-starter who is also a team player. Our client sales team markets to institutional investors (including the world’s top 100 investment and asset management firms, mutual funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and others) across mostly fixed income credit & Emerging Market products.

How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Demonstrate interest in Fixed Income Markets as well as FinTech and in particular MarketAxess product suite. Be able to anticipate customer needs, and use discretion to advise customers
  • Maintain customer relationships and be the subject matter expert in relevant product segment to achieve trading volume targets and increase market penetration
  • Work closely with other members of the German-speaking sales team
  • Work with the EUR and US based client and dealer sales and product management teams to maximise trade volumes with European clients
  • Assist the dealer relationship management team in developing relationships with new dealers if requested. Ability to specify sectors traded at each dealer
  • Participate in client and product management team meetings and discussions
  • Participate in sales team meetings and events
  • Plan and manage backup and support arrangements in event of absence
  • Provide detailed client feedback to improve product development cycle
  • Sell MarketAxess trading capabilities to current and potential customers focusing on relevant suite of products (e.g., Eurobonds, investment grade, emerging markets, high yield, index product or rates)
  • Analyze large sets of data to identify market trends, tradable patterns, and leading indicators to advise current and prospective customers
  • Actively build a new business pipeline within the relevant product or region, call on customers and develop relationships at multiple levels across the customer organization (intermediate)
  • Be responsible for customer onboarding, relationship management, end-user training, and the build out of new initiatives and customer messaging
  • Leverage customer and industry intel to effectively communicate product requirements to Product Specialists/Developers for system enhancements, functionality and usability
  • Meet customers during and after business hours, including overseas and domestic travel, and be able to entertain customers at various events

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Fixed Income financial services; sales or operations experience from a broker/dealer, or relevant experience working for a fixed income electronic trading venue
  • Knowledge of the fixed income markets, preferably Eurobonds, investment grade, high yield and Emerging Markets
  • Understanding of how EU credit products are traded and sold
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills)
  • Ability to interact with and provide insight to line-traders and trading management
  • Ability to proactively tackle business problems with creative solutions
  • Passion for electronic trading and the resilience to effectively promote its continued evolution through MarketAxess products
  • Knowledge of the MarketAxess platform and product suite is a plus
  • Located in Frankfurt with the ability to travel

Languages

  • Fluency in German and English required
