Associate, Technical Product

The Role

The Technical Product Associate will be a proven Financial Technology professional and will work with internal stakeholders to define business solutions that meet the needs of the MarketAxess Post-Trade Match and Repo community of users, as well as prospective clients. The MarketAxess Match & Repo service helps pair and compare trades across mandatory matching criteria for cash fixed income securities and repo transactions including lifecycle events. This allows member firms to proactively catch and resolve exceptions in near real time on trade date.  Efficient confirmation processing reduces operational risk and increases settlement efficiency.  

How You’ll Help Take Us There 

• Translate customer and business needs into user stories, eliciting NFRs and creating artefacts needed to describe the solutions intent
• Prioritise the team backlog of work so that it best supports the execution of the product strategy
• Build understanding of user motivation and opportunity through market research and client discovery calls
• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and other TPMs to ensure the delivery of coherent and consistently high-quality products delivered at pace
• Work closely with developers to design the most efficient solution based on requirements, leveraging minimum viable product releases and iterative delivery where possible
• Arbitrate between competing stakeholder needs
• Create and maintain client facing specification documents across all integration methods and variations 
• Showcase progress to large groups through demos and walkthroughs
• Take ownership of your products success and its contribution to our wider strategic objectives
• Facilitate user acceptance testing and end user training
• Use data and analytics to measure successes and understand missed opportunities 
• Play an active role in the Product community, helping to grow our capability in these areas 

What We’re Looking for  

• 3+ years working across Product/BA roles in Financial Technology
• Knowledge of Fixed Income & in particular, FI Cash and Repo markets
• Knowledge of post trade processes particularly in relation to confirmation and settlement processes
• Experience working with (or within) both Buy and Sell-side firms
• Recent experience working in an Agile at scale environment
• Experience in producing technical specification documents  
• Fundamental understanding of database design, including working knowledge of SQL
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Office, WebEx, Monday, Tableau, Teams, etc.  

Desirable Knowledge/Experience/Certifications 

• SAFe certified (ideally TPM/PM)
• TPM experience on a SAFe Agile Release Train
• FIX Messaging Protocol
