Your Impact:

The primary purpose of this role is to capture moderately complex financial activities and resolve issues in accounting records to enable accurate reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This includes responsibility for conducting effective research, managing, tracking, reporting, and reviewing work of financial activities according to various federal, state, and local regulations to ensure accounting records are correct. In addition, this role executes internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting, by working independently to apply experienced accounting judgment and knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements in daily activity.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate and support business partners within Finance and Real Estate
  • Execute Real Estate accounting transactions related to Excess Property and Held for Sale transfers and property sales, ensuring treatment is in alignment with accounting guidance and internal policies
  • Manage monthly Exit Cost accounting and works with business partners in Real Estate to adjust assumptions on a recurring basis
  • Analyze site incentive transactions and proposes proper accounting treatment based on applicable accounting guidance and internal policies
  • Calculate interest on large company projects for capitalization in alignment with applicable accounting guidance and internal policies
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly impairment reporting for upper management and business partners, including quarterly impairment watchlist
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and annual percentage rent reporting for Lessors.
  • Coordinate with the Retail Facilities team to ensure percentage rent payments are accurately calculated and paid to Lessors.
  • Prepare monthly analyses, reporting, reconciliations, and variance commentary for all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for Lease Termination accounting, ensuring appropriate income statement impacts are recorded on the financials
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and thorough records
  • Participate in projects and assists other teams, as needed and/or requested by management
  • Independently manages and owns all areas of responsibility, only relying on management assistance for complex situations/scenarios

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor' degree in accounting or related field
  • 4 years experience in accounting, tax, finance (public or private) or relevant experience
  • Lowe's accounting or finance experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of intermediate GAAP concepts and financial controls (to apply this knowledge to the design and execution of activities within the respective area)
  • Advanced skills in MS office programs (Excel, Word, Access)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in accounting
  • CPA
  • Lowe's accounting or finance experience
