Job Overview:

 

We are seeking a senior, high-impact Relationship Manager to help expand and deepen Lord Abbett’s presence across the U.S. Wealth Management ecosystem. This individual will play a mission-critical role in driving strategic partnerships with some of the largest and most influential firms in the industry, including private banks, advisor networks, consolidators, and multi-platform organizations serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.


In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with National Sales, the Regional Managers, Advisor Consultants, and the Strategic Relationship Group to deliver platform-level value, influence product placements, and cultivate senior relationships that drive organic growth across all wealth channels. Reporting directly to the Partner & Head of Strategic Relationships, Wealth Management, you will serve as a key conduit between the firm’s long-term strategy and its execution across the most consequential wealth platforms in the U.S.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to establish and grow partnerships with leading U.S. Wealth Management firms and platforms.
  • Accelerate organic growth across Lord Abbett’s Wealth Management channels through strategic product placement and enterprise-level engagement.
  • Serve as a senior architect of relationships—navigating platform dynamics, gatekeeper structures, and organizational complexity to advance firm priorities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Strategy, and Product Management to align go-to-market activity with overarching business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Client Information Solutions team to deliver accurate reporting, drive accountability, and support the buildout of a holistic data strategy.
  • Manage platform economics and budget allocations; adapt strategically to evolving business priorities and changes within key partner organizations.
  • Represent Lord Abbett at industry conferences and events, strengthening the firm’s visibility and influence among senior decision-makers.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the wealth management landscape—including key players, technology platforms, investment trends, and emerging business models.

You'll need to have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in asset management or wealth management distribution, with a track record of success in senior relationship roles.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Wealth Management landscape—particularly firms and platforms serving HNW and UHNW investors.
  • Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate platform economics and influence high-stakes business decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results while aligning with long-term firm objectives.
  • Comfort with alternative investments and evolving product structures across public and private markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or industry certifications preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial, team-first mindset and a strong alignment with Lord Abbett’s values.
  • Based in or willing to work from our headquarters at 30 Hudson Street, with flexibility for travel.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $220,000-$250,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
