Job Overview:

 

The Senior Alternatives Investor Services Specialist plays a critical role within Lord Abbett's Global Investor Services organization, serving as a subject matter expert for investor servicing across alternative investment strategies and product vehicles.

 

This role is responsible for implementing and continuously enhancing the operating model supporting the full investor lifecycle across Lord Abbett's private markets platform, including onboarding, subscriptions, capital activity, distributions, and liquidity events. Working closely with Product Strategy, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Investment Operations, Technology, and third-party service providers, this individual will build scalable operational capabilities that support business growth while delivering a best-in-class investor experience across wealth and institutional distribution channels.

 

The successful candidate combines deep operational expertise with a continuous improvement mindset, using strong cross-functional partnership and operational leadership to simplify complexity, improve scalability, and support the firm's long-term private markets strategy.

We’ll trust you to:

Design and Enhance the Investor Services Operating Model

  • Design and continuously evolve the end-to-end operating models supporting alternative investment products, establishing scalable, repeatable processes across the investor lifecycle.
  • Develop scalable servicing models that reduce operational complexity while improving consistency and client experience.
  • Partner with Product teams to ensure new product vehicles and economic arrangements can be supported operationally from launch through ongoing servicing.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through technology and workflow enhancements.
  • Develop operational playbooks supporting repeatable execution across multiple product vehicles.

Support the Full Investor Lifecycle

  • Serve as an operational subject matter expert and central point of accountability across the full investor lifecycle, including:
    • Investor onboarding
    • Subscription processing
    • Capital commitments
    • Capital calls
    • Funding
    • Distributions
    • Liquidity events
    • Ongoing investor servicing
  • Coordinate complex operational activity across internal partners, custodians, fund administrators, transfer agents, and intermediaries.
  • Resolve complex operational issues and provide guidance on servicing exceptions and process improvements.
  • Monitor subscription pipelines and capital activity to support business objectives and operational readiness.

Manage Third-Party Service Providers

  • Serve as an operational liaison with Transfer Agents, Fund Administrators, custodians, and other third-party providers.
  • Monitor service quality and operational performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving improvements in processing accuracy, turnaround times, and Issue resolution
  • Participate in and/or lead regular service reviews and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and investor experience.

Drive Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Product Strategy, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Investment Operations, and Technology to support product launches and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide operational expertise during product development to ensure infrastructure, controls, and servicing models support future growth.
  • Act as the operational bridge between front-office strategy and execution teams to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Develop reporting that provides visibility into:
    • Subscription activity
    • Capital funding
    • Operational performance
    • Processing quality
  • Analyze servicing data and operational performance to identify trends, capacity constraints, operational risks, and opportunities to improve scalability and the investor experience.
  • Influence strategic technology priorities by partnering with Technology and Product teams to define business requirements and enhance investor servicing capabilities.

You'll need to have:

  • 10-12 years of experience in asset management or financial services with a focus on investor servicing, fund operations, transfer agency, or alternative investments.
  • Deep understanding of alternative investment products with a focus on private funds, including closed-end funds, feeder funds, and other private market vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the full investor lifecycle, including onboarding, subscriptions, capital activity, and ongoing servicing.
  • Experience partnering with third-party service providers, including transfer agents, fund administrators, and custodians.
  • Strong understanding of wealth management distribution; institutional experience preferred.
  • Experience designing or improving operating models supporting alternative investment products.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational initiatives, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience supporting technology-enabled process improvements and workflow automation initiatives is preferred.
  • Experience supporting new product launches and operational readiness across alternative investment vehicles preferred.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $150,000 - $165,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
