Role Overview:
Lincoln Center is seeking a Tech Lead - Consumer Products to architect and deliver the next generation of patron-facing digital experiences. Reporting directly to the CTDO, this role will lead technical strategy across our core digital products-including the website, mobile app, account and identity services, wallet and entry, connected ticketing, membership journeys, and personalized discovery.
You'll be the senior engineer accountable for building scalable platforms and high-performing product experiences that serve millions of patrons. You will lead a cross-functional engineering team, collaborate with product and design leaders, and work closely with digital agency partners and Resident Arts Organizations to bring human-centered technology to the performing arts.
What you'll get to do here:
- Lead the architecture and development of Lincoln Center's core consumer product ecosystem.
- Own technical strategy for key patron-facing platforms: website, mobile app, ticketing flows, user accounts, payments, and digital services.
- Design modern, API-driven architecture enabling scalability, performance, and modular development.
- Establish engineering standards for reliability, accessibility, site performance, and platform maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product and Design leadership to deliver high-quality experiences with a clear user and business impact.
- Ensure strong integration with key systems such as Tessitura, Salesforce, payment gateways, and marketing platforms.
- Mentor engineers and build a high-performance development culture.
- Evaluate vendor solutions and make build-vs-buy recommendations.
- Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance, security, and resilience.
- Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, testing, code review, and operational excellence.
You are:
- A hands-on technical leader who cares about both architecture and product quality.
- Experienced in building large-scale digital platforms with real users.
- Passionate about elegant engineering and disciplined execution.
- Comfortable working in modern web/mobile stacks and leading code strategy.
- Pragmatic-able to balance ideal long-term architecture with business needs.
- Collaborative-thrives in cross-functional environments with product and design partners.
- Motivated by building meaningful technology that inspires human connection.
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Proven experience architecting scalable consumer-facing platforms (web and/or mobile).
- Strong proficiency with modern development frameworks such as React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with microservices, GraphQL/REST API design, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building integrations with enterprise systems (CRM, ticketing, identity, payments).
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and SEO best practices.
- Bonus:
- Experience with Tessitura, ticketing platforms, or large-scale commerce.
- Experience with native iOS/Android or React Native app development.
- Experience working with design systems or component libraries.
- Prior experience in media, live events, or entertainment.
