Position: Senior Manager, Marketing Editorial and Web Content (Temporary)

Rate: $50-60/hr (Full-Time Hours & Benefits Eligible)
Role Overview: The Senior Manager, Marketing Editorial and Web Content supports organizational marketing goals through editorial management of website content. This role supervises the Web Content team and editorial freelancers, maintains consistency in brand voice and editorial standards across all website content, and manages workflows and competing deadlines. The Senior Manager will assign and manage freelancer copywriters, as well as produce, edit, and fact‑check high‑quality marketing copy, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand voice. The position collaborates closely with Marketing, Communications, Digital Experience, and Programming teams, and guides freelance writers to deliver compelling, on‑brand narratives and web content.
Team Management & Project Management
- Team Management: Manage the day-to-day work of a collaborative Web Content team, including the Website Content Manager and Digital Content Producers
- Lead daily team meetings to manage workflow and ensure coordination; Guide prioritization and editorial support, as needed.
- Project Management: Build copy and web launch timelines with the Marketing Director and Web Content team
- Route draft copy to stakeholders and deliver final copy to the web content team for publication
- Oversee the intake of requests for new web content and updates
- Collaborate with various internal teams (including Marketing, Copywriters, and Programming) for programming web announcements, ensuring projects remain on track
Editorial Management & Content Strategy
- Writer Management: Assign and edit the work of freelance copywriters and route to appropriate stakeholders for approval.
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with Marketing Director to develop editorial narratives for seasonal programming series, including American Songbook, Big Umbrella Festival, and others.
- Present content plans, campaign concepts, and web experiences to internal stakeholders.
- Editorial Excellence: Ensure consistency of brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards across all published materials on the website, according to AP Styleguide
- Create and maintain master chronologies of season programming descriptions, series descriptions, artist bios, and other marketing copy
- Content creation and copywriting: Produce high-quality marketing copy, ensuring accuracy, flow, and alignment with brand strategies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in editorial management, digital content management, and marketing-ideally within arts, culture, media, or nonprofit sectors.
- Experience managing a team, running daily standups, and overseeing workload distribution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and cross-functional workflows; familiarity with Monday.com preferred.
- Experience managing a team of freelance writers; experience partnering with marketing, programming, creative, and freelance contributors.
- Passion for the performing arts and experience in the entertainment industry and/or non-profit sector is preferred.
- Experience developing editorial narratives, campaign messaging, and content frameworks for seasonal or programmatic initiatives.
- Strong line editing, proofreading, and fact‑checking skills; ability to ensure brand voice and AP Style.
- Proven ability to align stakeholders across teams and departments
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Performing Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
