About the team:

Sales Engineers at Liftoff act as trusted technical advisors. They bridge the gap between complex ad tech solutions and customer needs, guiding conversations on attribution, measurement, and performance while ensuring smooth adoption of our products. By partnering across Sales, Product, and Engineering, Sales Engineers eliminate technical barriers, accelerate deals, and drive long-term client success. As a Sales Engineer, you will partner with Sales teams to drive successful deals by showcasing deep product expertise. You’ll lead QA sessions, deliver tailored recommendations, and act as a trusted advisor to internal teams and external stakeholders — including direct marketers, agencies, and Mobile Measurement Platform (MMP) partners. You will be the go-to technical expert on the app advertising ecosystem, providing consultative guidance and ensuring our teams are equipped with the tools, insights, and confidence to speak knowledgeably about our solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage proactively with technical contacts from advertiser and publisher clients and potential clients through various channels, including ticketing system, chat, and video calls.
  • Assume a lead role in troubleshooting and investigating technical issues related to partner implementation.
  • Ownership of managing client expectations, communication, and reporting metrics related to our products and specific customer deployments.
  • Lead initiatives to grow the Liftoff/Vungle tech stack capabilities to grow our publisher and advertiser base.
  • Independently debug problems by inspecting stack traces, server logs, database entries, memory footprints, and Liftoff/Vungle's codebase.
  • Develop and deliver technical tutorials and sample code for clients as well as the internal team.
  • Collaborate closely with product and development teams to gather and prioritize client requirements, contributing to the product roadmap.
  • Participate actively in the development of internal support tools and applications.
  • Partner with the business and Solutions Engineering team members located globally.
  • May involve occasional travel to client sites for key engagements or meetings.
  • Demonstrate use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope under general supervision. 
  • Applies developing expertise and knowledge of company policies to resolve a variety of issues.

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree
    • Experience in the tech industry—mobile, gaming, ad tech, e-commerce or consulting are a strong plus.  
  • Receive specific guidance for new projects or complex assignments. 
  • An entrepreneurial and ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating attention to detail.
  • A relationship builder with the ability to make connections with anyone.
  • Strong negotiation/influencing skills; ability to persuade at the executive management level,
  • Strong data analysis and Excel skills.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Telling a story with data; A strong understanding of data analysis and visualization.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Active contributor to a dynamic office culture.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.

Travel Expectations:

We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Compensation:

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidate's location and experience.

The annual compensation (base + bonus) range for this role in Beijing is: RMB 332,500 to 399,000
