Modeling Data Solutions is seeking experienced data analytics engineers to join its personal lines auto teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join the US Data Science Infrastructure department helping to support creating cutting edge pricing programs. You will play a critical role in designing and developing the data solutions needed for research and development as well as providing front line data support in launching new products into market. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders including data scientists and product analysts to gather requirements, design, and implement robust data solutions.

This role may have in-office requirements dependent upon candidate location.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support the organization's analytical needs.
  • Conduct complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, identifying issues and changes with the data and communicating solutions to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide tailored analytics solutions.
  • Implement and enforce data quality and governance standards to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and security.
  • Design and implement robust data models that facilitate data accessibility and efficient querying for analysis and reporting.
  • Utilize python, Snowflake, and SQL queries to build robust data solutions and for profiling data.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analytics and engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance the team's capabilities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data analytics engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

  • Have strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python; familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and AWS. Experience with dbt or Databricks is a plus.
  • Demonstrate 5+ years of experience in data analysis, product/business analytics, or data engineering.
  • Possess proven experience managing analytics or data projects and coordinating cross-functional workstreams, with demonstrated ability to deliver on time and communicate progress to varied audiences.
  • Have practical experience collaborating in Agile teams and applying Agile best practices (sprint planning, refinement, retrospective).
  • Be experienced with data quality practices, monitoring, and validation approaches to ensure reliable inputs for analytics and decision-making.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Domain experience in personal lines Auto, Property, or other insurance product areas.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional analytics projects, including stakeholder management, project scoping, and delivering business outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred.</li><li>Masters in same or related disciplines strongly preferred.
  • 5-7+ years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack.
  • 5-7+ years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools.
