The Team:

The Real Estate team works with a core group of trusted operating and development partners to deploy capital across property sectors with strong demand. Their portfolio is comprised primarily of equity investments in core-plus, value-added, and opportunistic strategies that generate compelling risk-adjusted returns.

The Position:

This position will report directly to the Vice President, Head of Portfolio Management, and work closely with the Real Estate team to support the execution of a disciplined, process-oriented portfolio management approach for LMI Real Estate. The Senior Analyst will serve as a key analytical resource, providing timely financial analysis, reporting, and insights to enhance visibility into portfolio performance and support informed asset management and investment decisions. The role includes close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external operating partners to support the execution of business plans, monitor performance, and identify risks and opportunities across the real estate portfolio. #LMI

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vice President, Head of Portfolio Management in the execution and ongoing enhancement of portfolio management processes across the real estate platform.
  • Analyze and monitor the financial performance of portfolio investments, including maintaining and updating financial models, reviewing operating budgets, and identifying performance variances, risks, and liquidity considerations.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow, valuation, and distribution models, including detailed review of joint venture operating agreements and waterfall structures.
  • Maintain property-level valuation analyses in accordance with fair value reporting standards for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Assist with acquisition and investment due diligence, including analysis of property financials, market fundamentals, business plans, and partnership structures.
  • Support the preparation of semi-annual and ad hoc portfolio reporting, coordinating with internal teams and operating partners to ensure accurate and timely data collection and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda and presentation materials for the Investment Committee.
  • Conduct market, economic, and demographic research to support asset-level and portfolio-level decision making. Evaluate portfolio assumptions against current market and research fundamentals.
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Risk Management to support transaction execution, reporting requirements, and ongoing portfolio oversight.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of portfolio management tools and strategy, data infrastructure, and analytics capabilities.
  • Promote collaboration across teams and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership in supporting portfolio outcomes. Assist in portfolio-wide initiatives, focused on maximizing portfolio performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials; 2-4 years of relevant experience in real estate investments, asset management, portfolio management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in real estate asset and portfolio management.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort supporting senior-level presentations and discussions.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented professional with a strong work ethic and willingness to take on increasing responsibility as the platform grows.
  • Demonstrates strong AI literacy and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance speed, accuracy, and insight generation while maintaining sound judgment and compliance with governance standards

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
