At Liberty, our Personal Lines Property & Specialty Product team partners across the company to design and launch home and specialty insurance solutions - from homeowners (property) and condos to renters and other niche lines (specialty)- that meet evolving customer and agent needs. We focus on preparing and executing program rollouts, delivering on our growth roadmap, and modernizing pricing and the technology that supports the work we do. Organized into five functions-State Management, Development, Delivery, Underwriting Effectiveness, and Specialty-we collaborate closely to meet our goals and help customers feel secure today and confident about tomorrow.

Senior Analyst - Property & Specialty Underwriting Effectiveness

The Property & Specialty Underwriting Effectiveness team is looking for a curious, collaborative analyst (Senior Analyst) to help support and grow our underwriting analytics and program management capabilities. As part of the Model Operations and Monitoring team, this role will focus on providing robust analytical support and recommend solutions to drive efficiencies.

This role will work closely with partners across teams such as State Management, Risk Analytics, Distribution, and Delivery to ensure that our suite of pre and post bind underwriting models are working together to drive profitable growth for all Property and Specialty lines. Bring a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to your work - whether that's digging into a complex state solution, improving an existing process, or helping a partner to better understand and optimize the underwriting levers available. The ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to solve complex underwriting problems with detail while maintaining a view of the high level strategy is what will set you apart in this role.

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by solving problems. The specific level will depend on experience, but a growth mindset and genuine curiosity are the most important qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze and interpret data to support underwriting strategy, segmentation, and program management decisions.

• Provide strategic recommendations based on independent analysis

• Drive forward countrywide strategic cross-functional projects

• Partner with stakeholders across teams to understand state specific needs and provide actionable solutions for nuanced problems

• Communicate findings and insights in a way that is understandable and actionable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Identify opportunities to maximize efficiencies, drive growth, and maintain strong profit position on a state and countrywide level

• Serve as a collaborative resource for teammates

• Contribute to the team's exploration of AI-enabled analytics real-world applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data.

• Excellent communication skills - able to clearly present findings and strategy to leadership group.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.

• Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine willingness to learn new tools and approaches.

• Experience with data analysis, data validation, or data management in an analytical role.

• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or R.

Preferred:

• Experience with PowerBI, Snowflake

• Exposure to or interest in AI-enabled analytics

• Limited supervision, conduct analysis to evaluate and implement vendor products. May interacts with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience, typically 4 years.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
