This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) for candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH.

Job Introduction:

The Global Finance Technology organization is looking to hire a Principal SAP PaPM Configuration Engineer to their Record to Report (R2R) team. Under limited supervision, this individual would be responsible for analyzing, developing, and configuring new use cases utilizing SAP PaPM. This role would entail supporting production users and the maintenance and enhancements of the OneGL finance environment supporting the financial month-end close process.

Seen as a technical expert within the team, this role analyzes complex technical problems and develops, communicates, and implements solutions while mentoring junior team members.

Job Description:

  • Identifies and translates business requirements into functional and system specifications, maps them to systems capabilities and recommends technical solutions utilizing SAP PaPM.
  • Configures SAP PaPM system settings and options, plans, and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing, and creates functional and technical specifications.
  • Develops and implements solutions and sophisticated models to support complex financial calculations/allocations and reporting.
  • Designs and implements end-to-end solutions that align with best practices and meet critical objectives.
  • Assesses current business and system processes and recommends improvements.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and system performance.
  • Performs troubleshooting, solves complex defect issues and collaborates with subject matter experts.
  • Identifies test scenarios and cases with product owners, executes test cases, documents test scripts and results, and provides quality assurance results to the business.
  • Supports additional parts of the implementation process such as project planning, post implementation support, cutover plans, documentation, and transition planning.

  • Strong understanding of financial transactional flow, SAP general ledger concepts such as company codes, chart of accounts, ledgers, coding blocks, profit centers, cost centers, currencies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes and ability to map business requirements to standard SAP processes with minimal or no customization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work with ambiguous and incomplete information.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach with extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, surface unforeseen implications, and make actionable design recommendations.
  • Ability to clearly define and communicate design reasoning while anticipating the potential impacts of design decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders with a proven track record of collaboration across multiple organizations, business partners and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of agile software development concepts and processes including backlog tracking, prioritization, strong collaboration within a scrum team and adaptability through incremental delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years technical/functional SAP Finance experience.
  • Minimum 2-3+ years of proven experience as an SAP PaPM Systems Analyst, Developer or Consultant with successful implementations and system evolution including configuration and customization capabilities.
  • Experience in SAP BW, SAP BPC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP HANA SQL, OData Services, other Cloud applications.
  • Good knowledge on data modelling and ETL.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP training in Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM).
  • Experience with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL), FI/CO and reporting modules (Analysis for Office, Web Intelligence, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 Embedded analytics specifically with Core Data Services (CDS) views development technique.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Finance industry is beneficial but not required.
