The Position

The Relationship Management (RM) team serves as the strategic, enterprise-wide hub for LMI's investment partner engagement, with a primary focus on private markets. The team aims to maximize long-term relationship value, ensure a market-leading presence, and align targeted interactions with LMI's strategic goals.

The RM team is seeking a Director to drive a differentiated partner engagement agenda across the platform. This individual will be responsible for the design and delivery of LMI-hosted events and bespoke engagement initiatives that elevate the firm's brand, strengthen connectivity across the platform, and generate measurable outcomes.

Working closely with investment teams and senior leadership, the Director will ensure LMI-hosted engagements are strategically targeted, well-executed, and continuously refined through feedback and data. These engagements are a critical component of the firm's relationship-development efforts, helping to support origination and drive long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture strong relationships by leading the strategy for LMI-hosted events and bespoke partner engagements, supporting the Head of RM by aligning objectives, attendee strategy, and content to advance LMI's priorities and external market presence.
  • Provide strategic partnership and influence to LMI's Specialty Services team to ensure alignment across logistics, vendor management, and production execution.
  • Partner with investment teams and senior leadership to align engagement opportunities with enterprise and team-level objectives.
  • Translate engagements into outcomes by capturing key takeaways, measuring impact, and producing post-engagement insights that inform future planning.
  • Drive post-engagement conversion, coordinating with investment teams to track opportunities and follow-through and ensure outcomes are captured.
  • Develop a deep understanding of LMI's investment platform and represent LMI at select conferences and industry events to strengthen brand presence and cultivate relationships.
  • Own CRM-enabled engagement operations, including the firmwide engagement calendar, partner targeting/segmentation, and reporting, to ensure insights directly inform event strategy, sequencing, and follow-through.
  • Lead and develop a junior resource supporting CRM-enabled engagement operations, ensuring high-quality execution, analytical rigor, and consistent operational outcomes across engagement activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in relationship management, investor relations, or strategic engagement within asset management or financial services.
  • Track record of designing and executing high-profile engagements such as multi-day forums and bespoke outings with measurable business impact.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to balance multiple engagements simultaneously with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to develop and sustain senior-level external partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; comfortable representing the firm externally and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven success in stakeholder management through cross-functional collaboration with investors, business enablement, and senior leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with creativity and resourcefulness; able to shape differentiated engagements that stand out in a competitive market.
  • Data orientation: experience leveraging CRM systems (preferably DealCloud or Salesforce) to drive targeting, engagement metrics, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrates strong AI literacy and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance speed, accuracy, and insight generation while maintaining sound judgment and compliance with governance standards

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
