Description
Join USRM Data Analytics and Engineering at Liberty Mutual as a Data Engineer. You'll build cloud data warehouse solutions that deliver premium and loss data for regulatory reporting and business decisions. Work on a distributed Agile team using Snowflake, Informatica IDMC, SQL, Control M, Python, AWS, and modern tooling like GitHub Copilot.
Under general supervision, responsible for the analysis, development, and execution of data solutions of moderate complexity in order to manage the information lifecycle needs of an organization. Collects, integrates and analyzes organizational data with the purpose of drawing conclusions from that information. Develops, constructs, tests, and maintains data architectures for data platform, database, analytical/reporting, or data science systems. Establishes and builds data systems including providing standards, policies, practice, procedures, governance and quality assurance for data deliverables. Recommends methods to improve data reliability, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Designs and develops low to moderately complex programs and tools to support ingestion, curation and provisioning of enterprise data to achieve analytics or reporting. Builds and designs data models and data architecture of low to moderate complexity that improve accessibility, efficiency, governance and quality of data. Makes recommendations for how to improve data. Provides successful deployment and provisioning of data solutions to production or other required environments Identifies possible process improvements that address technology gaps within a single business process of moderate complexity. Builds proficient knowledge of technology enablers. Analyzes and prepare moderate to complex technology enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

- Design, develop, and maintain pipelines on Snowflake and Informatica IDMC.
- Write and optimize SQL, Python, for data processing and integrations.
- Work with AWS (S3 and related services) for storage and data movement.
- Implement automated tests (unit, integration, system, regression) and support test tooling.
- Improve CI/CD, deployment processes, and monitoring for data workflows.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Produce technical documentation and support data quality and governance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' software engineering experience
- Experience with Snowflake and Informatica IDMC or similar ETL tools.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Python and/or Java.
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services.
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in Agile teams with cross-functional partners.
- Self-starter who can prioritize and deliver under sprint cadence.
- Knowledge of cloud or hybrid data architectures.
- Background in data warehousing or backend data solutions.
- Familiarity with insurance products or regulatory reporting.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
