Consultant, Product Research (Property & Specialty)
Description
At Liberty, our Personal Lines Property & Specialty Product team partners across the company to design and launch home and specialty insurance solutions - from homeowners (property) and condos to renters and other niche lines (specialty)- that meet evolving customer and agent needs. We focus on preparing and executing program rollouts, delivering on our growth roadmap, and modernizing pricing and the technology that supports the work we do. Organized into five functions-State Management, Development, Delivery, Underwriting Effectiveness, and Specialty-we collaborate closely to meet our goals and help customers feel secure today and confident about tomorrow.
We are looking for an experienced property contract professional to join the Product and Specialty Contract team. The role of the contract team is to fulfill Liberty Mutual's promise through the analysis and development of contract language and customer notices. You will be responsible for owning, maintaining, and drafting forms and contracts for countrywide or state projects across the property and specialty lines of business.
This position may have in-office requirements depending on candidate location. The level of position offered will be based on skills and experience at manager discretion.
In this role you will :
- Manage multiple property and specialty product form and contract initiatives with a focus on developing state or countrywide franchise policy language and assisting a team of contract analysts with developing contract language.
- Analyze information from various resources to develop recommendations. Independently drive revisions with a focus on quality and customer centricity. Own communication of changes to impacted stakeholders.
- Research and answer inquiries related to coverages, forms, and contracts from the organization and provide recommendations.
- Conducts moderate to high complexity analysis of state and countrywide property and specialty forms
- Conducts competitive intelligence and understands market trends for a product line Monitors and interprets developments.
- Serves as ad hoc resource for less experienced analysts. Occasionally mentors' others as requested

- Monitor regulatory and competitor forms changes by evaluating impacts to existing products.
- Collaborate with the Product Filings team on achieving approval of filings from regulatory authorities.
- Take a proactive role in identifying and leading process improvement initiatives.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration in order to meet business goals.
- Innovate and collaborate with other teams to design and develop language for complex new products and product updates.
- Mentor and develop less tenured contract analysts by helping them work through complex policy language, DOI objections and peer reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience, typically 4 years.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
- Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
