Description
The Global Risk Solutions (GRS)Data Science Solutions team is the one-stop-shop for all things data science in the commercial and specialty space. This posting is for an Assistant Director, Data or Analyst II, Data Science position on the Model Automation & Product team. The Model Automation & Product team in GRS Data Science Solutions focuses on supporting a wide variety model spanning from submission, underwriting, and claims. Various techniques are used in our supported models including GLMs, ML, and GenAI. Our mission is to support the models in our purview and to perform updates to models that become stale.
This position may be filled as an Analyst II, Data Science or Assistant Director, Data Science based on experience.
Analyst II, Data Science $106,000-$197,000
Assistant Director, Data Science $120,000-$225,000
Flexible Time off- 20 days
Responsibilities:
• Lead modeling efforts including oversight of junior staff
• Responsible for larger components of projects of moderate to high complexity
• Explore technical solutions to support model deployment
• Performing ad hoc analyses in support of products
• Partner across functions as needed to coordinate delivery plans, testing, training and support
• Lead problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service.

Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of predictive analytic techniques and statistical diagnostics of models.
- Expert knowledge of predictive toolset; reflects as expert resource for tool development.
- Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Ability to establish and build relationships within the aligned functional area or SBU.
- Ability to give effective training and presentations to peers, management and less senior business leaders.
- Ability to use results of analysis to persuade team or department management to a particular course of action.
- Has a value driven perspective with regard to understanding of work context and impact.
- Competencies typically acquired through a Ph.D. degree (in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science or other scientific field of study) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, a Masters degree (scientific field of study) and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or may be acquired through a Bachelors degree(scientific field of study) and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
