We need a Systems Architect to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center's Team at Fort Meade, MD.

This isn't just any job. The NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) is the Department of Defense's lead organization for enterprise-level systems engineering and architecture for NC3. Our customer, led by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities.

In this role, you will support the development and implementation of critical high assurance network communication systems. This work ensures national leaders have assured communications in both peacetime and wartime. The position encompasses responsibilities including developing and documenting proposed standards and identifying standards necessary to ensuring interoperability among multiple systems. You will work closely with our customers to implement standards throughout the NC3 System of Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, such as system and operational views, to support modification, upgrade, and modernization of existing Nuclear C3 systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of architecture documents using tools such as Cameo.
  • Verify and validate architecture documents against current systems description and program office documentation.
  • Advise the Government on recommendations to enhance NC3 architecture and/or systems engineering processes and capabilities.
  • Incorporate architecture artifacts into presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) designed to support senior leader decision making.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent technical field + 5 years relevant experience.
    • Associates' degree in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent technical field + 7 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience includes:
    • Use of Cameo to develop or maintain architectural documentation such as DoD Architecture Framework views.
    • Developing hardware, software and/or communications system architecture to meet specified requirements, including interface/interoperability requirements.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g., Outlook, Word and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as NEC, USSTRATCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.

Technical understanding of, and/or experience, with IP networks, satellite and/or terrestrial communications systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
