The NASA AEGIS program at Leidos is looking for a Senior Project Manager!
Leidos is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Business, Project Management, Systems Engineering to join our team supporting the AEGIS contract. The Leidos team is the backbone of NASA's IT infrastructure - including cybersecurity services, network and engineering operations, and enterprise data transport. This position plays a key leadership role in advancing NASA's mission to unify and modernize its global network and data management environments, enhancing performance, security, and cost efficiency across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will lead a team of project managers overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives and will play a central role in proposal development, cost estimation, and financial performance management through the disciplined use of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Earned Value Management (EVM). This position requires a seasoned leader with both technical and financial acumen who can ensure projects meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives while promoting modern delivery practices such as Agile methodology to improve efficiency, collaboration, and responsiveness.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of project managers responsible for delivery across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT programs.
- Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of BOEs to support proposals, contract modifications, and resource planning.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to track performance, manage variances, and maintain accurate forecasts.
- Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Technical Leads to align technical baselines, cost estimates, and risk management activities.
- Integrate Agile methodologies within the project management framework to enhance delivery cadence, stakeholder visibility, and adaptability.
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring compliance with project management and financial control standards.
- Conduct and support key project control activities, including baseline reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), and Estimate at Completion (EAC) assessments.
- Provide senior-level reporting on project health, cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
- Support proposal and capture efforts by developing cost and schedule inputs, basis of estimate narratives, and risk-adjusted planning.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in program execution.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the project management organization.
Please Note: Must be able to work onsite in Huntsville, AL.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, and/or a related field and 8+ years of relevant years of experience OR Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant years of experience.
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale IT or engineering programs within a government contracting environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team of project managers in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Proven expertise in developing BOEs and applying EVM for cost, schedule, and performance control.
- Understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements management, technical baselining, and verification/validation.
- Familiarity with project and financial management tools such as Jira and MS Project.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with executive and government stakeholders.
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to successfully obtain a government-issued Secret clearance.

- PMP or EVMS certifications are strongly desired.
Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $150,000 to $175,000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
