The Senior Digital & UX Strategist defines enterprise experience strategy, UX standards, and design system governance across the Leidos digital ecosystem. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on framing of digital solutions, translating business and user needs into concrete experience requirements that guide platform and interactive delivery.

This role works closely with the Digital Platform Product Owner and Interactive Design Lead to ensure experience principles, requirements, and standards are consistently reflected in platform roadmaps, interactive implementations, and key campaign and content deliverables.

This role, in partnership with the Creative Studio owns the enterprise digital design system that underpins Leidos.com and related digital properties within the ecosystem. Collectively, you will shape the vision, standards, and governance of the design system, and it's day-to-day execution.

This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to influence digital direction while maintaining clear ownership of UX strategy, design system integrity, and experience outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve UX strategy, experience principles, and design system standards.
  • Lead user research and experience analysis, translating insights into clear experience principles, frameworks, and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Digital Platform Product Owner to influence platform roadmap priorities based on user needs, experience insights, and usability considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with the SEO & Digital Optimization Lead to ensure digital experiences are intuitive, accessible, and optimized for discoverability and performance.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for UX execution, ensuring Brand teams and partners implement experiences consistently within defined standards and guardrails.
  • Advocate for accessibility, inclusive design, and usability best practices across the digital ecosystem.
  • Translate requirements into experience frameworks, journey maps, information architecture, and wireframes.
  • Use research, analytics, and feedback to inform continuous experience improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in digital experience strategy, UX strategy, or experience design roles within complex, enterprise environments. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and leading UX strategy across large-scale websites or digital ecosystems.
  • Proven experience owning or governing an enterprise design system, including standards, principles, and long-term evolution.
  • Strong background in user research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and translating insights into experience direction and frameworks.
  • Experience influencing product, platform, content, and marketing decisions without direct people management authority.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), inclusive design principles, and usability best practices.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on contribution when needed (e.g., audits, frameworks, guidance).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-influence skills, with the ability to clearly articulate experience rationale and direction.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00
