Work Environment & Expectations:
This role may involve a mix of office-based coordination and on-the-ground field work, depending on workflow needs. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
Position Summary: The Fielding Coordinator plays a critical leadership role within the operations team, overseeing all fielding activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely execution of work. This position is a member of the Manager's Leadership Team and acts as the primary point of contact for fielding operations, training, and resource management. The Fielding Coordinator ensures all data collection and field prep processes are executed to the highest standards, while also contributing to team development and process improvement.
As a Fielding Coordinator, you can expect to:
- Lead and oversee all fielding operations to ensure successful execution of project requirements.
- Serve as a member of the Manager's Leadership Team, contributing to operational planning and leadership initiatives.
- Schedule and coordinate all fielding-related tasks to align with project deadlines and priorities.
- Assign and manage daily work for Fielders, ensuring even distribution of tasks and accountability.
- Train new hires and existing team members on proper fielding procedures, safety protocols, and technology use.
- Manage and maintain all fielding equipment, ensuring proper function, availability, and inventory control.
- Support recruitment efforts by vetting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for fielding roles.
- Oversee field prep and ensure collected fielding data is complete, accurate, and properly corrected.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Manager and team leads, identifying risks or resource needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Leidos' in-house fielding software (Skywire); report bugs and suggest improvements to the development team.
- Perform field work directly as needed, based on team workload and shifting priorities.
- Analyze resource requirements and work with leadership to make adjustments in staffing or task assignments as necessary.
- Utilize engineering design concepts to assist in the development of work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and/or Street Light projects, using customer GIS and WMS systems such GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, and Maximo
- Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
- Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
- BS Degree & 2+ Years of Relevant experience working with electric distribution projects OR AS Degree & 4 years of relevant experience; Additional Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Prior experience in field operations or coordination roles preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities.
- Comfortable working with fielding software and reporting tools (experience with Skywire is a plus).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting project demands.
- Technical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
