Description
Leidos CIO Cloud Services, reporting through the Digital Modernization sector, is seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer with expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, scripting, and adherence to cloud security frameworks and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Azure environments, implementing Cloud Engineer practices, and driving efficiency through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role requires a strong technical background, a deep understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.
Location: This position offers full time telework from any US based location.
Citizenship: US Citizenship is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Engineering principles.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
- Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Automate routine tasks and processes using PowerShell, Python, TypeScript, Go other scripting languages.
- Monitor and optimize Azure resources for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Manage Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Entra ID, and Networking.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and implement best practices for cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Azure infrastructure and DevOps pipelines.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to support application deployments and cloud migrations.
- Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, Engineering processes, and procedures.
- Stay updated on Azure advancements, recommending improvements to existing systems.

Basic Qualifications
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of proven relevant experience or Master's degree with less than 3-4 years of prior relevant experience. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, TypeScript, Go or similar languages with a focus on creating reusable modules and libraries.
- Strong understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
- Previous experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments (both commercial and government) and integrations: Azure, AWS, GCP
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards
- Proficiency in designing and implementing automated workflows for resource provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using Azure Automation, Logic Apps, or Runbooks.
- Ability to integrate automation into security processes, such as vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and incident response workflows.
- Experience with building self-service portals or automation frameworks for end-users to provision and manage cloud resources.
- Familiarity with event-driven automation using Azure Event Grid, Azure Functions, or serverless architectures

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
