Specimen Management Specialist

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Specimen Management team in Phoenix, AZ.
Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM. Required overtime as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
- Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
- Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
- Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
- Provide customer education and information as needed.
- Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
- Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
- Accurately identify and label specimens.
- Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
- Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Minimum Qualification:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
- Current or prior Labcorp experience
- Associates degree or higher
- • One year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
Additional Job Standards:
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Able to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
